Glencairn crystal whiskey glass was developed by five of the largest whiskey companies in Scotland together with the crystal manufacturer Glencairn. When the glass first reached the market, distilleries around the UK and Ireland quickly began using it for their profile glasses, mainly for tasting.
In terms of design, the Glencairn glass is a classic cup that tapers at the top to better present the whiskey's aromas. A strong bottom gives stability and a rustic feeling of holding the glass.
