A relatively wide foot carries the stem and cup, which provides a stable foundation for the design. The cup is narrow to preserve the carbon dioxide in the sparkling wine, but a little wider at the bottom to let the wine breathe. At the bottom of the cup there is a small unevenness that helps to portion out the carbon dioxide, called sparkling point. Iittala Essence champagne glasses are perfectly suited to all types of sparkling wines, such as Champagne, Prosecco and Cava and more.
