Zalto is a name that today is synonymous with some of the world's most exclusive and acclaimed wine glasses. The area is known for its long history of glassblowing, where knowledge and technique have been passed down through generations.
The modern Zalto we know today was founded in the early 2000s but builds upon this rich tradition of craftsmanship. A crucial source of inspiration for Zalto’s philosophy was the priestly Zalto family, who in the 19th century began producing glass with a deep respect for both function and aesthetics. They developed a technique for blowing extremely thin, handmade glass that combined beauty with practical use – something that remains at the core of Zalto’s identity today.
A major turning point came when Zalto decided to design their glasses based on angles inspired by the earth’s tilt – 24°, 48°, and 72°. These angles are said to optimize the wine’s development in the glass, enhance its aromas, and create an outstanding tasting experience. The result was glasses that were not only technically advanced but also almost floating in their lightness.
Each Zalto glass is mouth-blown and lead-free, providing crystal-clear transparency and incredible finesse. The tolerance on the thickness of the glass can differ by an average of 1.5 mm.
The glasses are usually delivered in 6-packs from the factory. Orders that do not contain even 6-packs will be individually packed without original packaging.
